How It Happened

Less than 24 hours after their double overtime draw with Goucher College, the Ravens were back at it on Saturday afternoon against William Peace University from Raleigh, N.C.

It was another hot afternoon at the RAC Rosemont and William Peace started the match out slowly.  With neither team able to attack much in the early going. Then, in the 7th minute the Pacers broke down the far side of the field sending a cross into the box deflecting off a Ravens defender into the back of the net for and early 1-0 lead. The game would stay that way until the 25:39 mark when William Peace's Chris Deleon sent a cross in the 18 yard box and it was headed into goal by Ja'Rod Randolph. The first half would end with the same score.

In the second half the Pacers wasted little time as Deleon put one behind Ravens keeper Zach Bowe 1:44 into the half.  It would go back and forth for most of the half with the teams trading chances and using their deep benches to keep fresh legs on the pitch. Rosemont would find the net late in the half with Emre Kasik scoring off of a penalty kick in the 87th minute. Unfortunately that would be as close as the Ravens could get with William Peace adding two more in the final 2:58 to close out a 5-1 win.

Ravens' Top Performers
  • Kasik led the Ravens with three shots and the lone goal from the spot
  • Jelani James took four shots, with three on frame
  • Keeper Zach Bowe was strong in net again making 10 saves on the 15 shots on target.

  • Chris Deleon led the team with four shots, 3 on goal, one assist and added a goal.
  • Ja'Rod Randolph had two shots both on goal and scored once
  • Enrique Ochoa had one shot and put it in the net
  • William Peace keeper Christian Ortiz made six saves on seven shots on goal, only getting beat by a penalty kick.
Stats of the Game
  • William Peace outshot Rosemont 16-15.
  • Two of the five Pacers goals were own goals
