Rosemont Takes CSAC Opener On Road

How It Happened

After a rough match on Thursday Rosemont found their first goal and first win Saturday afternoon in the CSAC opener at Clarks Summit University.

After not much going on in the first couple of minutes of the first half. The Ravens finally found the net for the first time in the young season when Cheyenne Tumolo took a pass inside the 18-yard box and chipped one over Defenders goalkeeper Elysia Hinkel at the 10:22 mark of the half to give Rosemont a 1-0 lead. That would be the only score of the first half as the Ravens would carry a 1-0 lead to the locker room at halftime. Rosemont outshot Clarks Summit in the first half 12-2 (7-2 on net).
 
In the second half the Ravens and Defenders would play a more even half with the teams splitting six shots on frame.  Rosemont would put the match away with 7:14 to play when an outlet punt from Jenna Kaiser would find the feet of Taylor Mohr who would dribble from the midline and stash it behind the keeper to make it 2-0. From there the Ravens played out the remainder of the half to earn the win and keep the shutout.

  • Tumolo and Mohr would combine for five shots (two on goal) and each scored their first goal of the season.
  • Payton Kanagie led the Ravens in shots with six (four on target).
  • Alexa Rhoads also added four shots (two on goal).
  • Goalkeeper Jenna Kaiser made five saves for the shutout win
For the Defenders
  • Heidi Depue led Clarks Summit with two shots (one on target).
  • Goalkeeper Elysia Hinkel turned aside nine of the eleven shots she faced.
