Ravens Falter to Wesley in 2nd Half

The Basics
  • Final Score: Wesley 2, Rosemont 0
  • Records: Rosemont 1-4, Wesley 3-2
  • Location: Ravens Athletic Complex, Rosemont, Pa.

How It Happened

The Ravens played a tough brand of defense in the first half against the Wesley Wolverines as Jenn Kaiser stopped all five Wesley shots on goal in the first stanza. On the offensive side, the Ravens took five shots, with one on frame, with all five saved by Wesley, leading to a scoreless tie after the first 45 minutes.

The scoring drought in the game ended quickly in the second half when Wesley's Aleya Cummings drilled a ball into the left corner from about 10 yards out to put the Wolverines in front 1-0 after only 21 seconds elapsed in the half. The Ravens worked hard to find the equalizer, but it was not to be. Wesley's Aline Check found Cummings on the front line, and she beat the defense to score on a kick into the lower left corner of the cage to put the visitors up 2-0 in the 67th minute.

The Ravens upped their offensive attempts in the second half, as each team took eight shots in the final half, but Rosemont was unable to find pay dirt for the remainder of the game.
