How It Happened
Match 1
The Crusaders jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back to beat the Ravens decisively in the first set. Alvernia rode a 7-1 lead out of the gate in the second set. In the third set the Ravens opened up a 10-4 lead on an ace from
Morgan Rollins, but Alvernia responded with an 8-0 run to grab a 12-10 lead, and kept their momentum to open up their control of the set the rest of the way, outscoring Rosemont 13-5 for the remainder of the set.
Leilani Naone-Carter had five kills and
Morgan Rollins had four to lead Rosemont. Rollins also had one block in the match.
Match 2
In set number one, the Ravens hung with the Pacers and trailed by just a sole point, 9-8, before Marywood put together a decisive an 11-1 run to take a 20-9 lead. Trailing 10-7 in the second set Rosemont strung together a four-spot to grab an 11-10 advantage. Knotted at 14 apiece the Pacers outscored the Ravens 6-1 to grab a 20-15 lead. Trailing 22-16, Rosemont would fight back to get within 23-20, but Marywood won the final two points to claim the set. Marywood set their pace, opening up with a 5-0 lead. The Ravens would trim the lead back to 8-5, but the Pacers had two 5-0 runs down the stretch to win the set convincingly.
Kealohilani Naone-Carter had six kills to lead the Ravens, while teammates
Xiomara Colon and
Morgan Rollins had three kills apiece.
Leilani Naone-Carter had three service aces.
Sabrina Heggan and
Natalie Altieri each served up 11 assists, while Heggan and
Morgan Rollins each had six digs.
