Ravens End Season With Team Win Over Lady Defenders

Five Players Hit Double Figures And Three Post Double-Doubles In Convincing Season Finale Win

ROSEMONT– The Rosemont Ravens Women's basketball team finished up the 2016-17 season with a wire to wire win over the visiting Clarks Summit Lady Defenders by a final of 80-41. With the win the Ravens end the season on a two-game winning streak, and close out with an overall record of 8-17 (6-10 CSAC). The Lady Defenders finish at 0-23 (0-16 CSAC).

The Ravens came out of the gates this afternoon on fire as a Jasmyn Parker three-pointer just six seconds into the contest started a 10-0 opening run. Clarks Summit slowed things down for just a brief moment when Hannah Phelan hit a jumper 5:42 into the first to make it 10-2. Rosemont ended the frame scoring the final 11 points with contributions from Leilani Naone-Carter, Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter, Shirle Brown and Jasmyn Parker, and after one it was 21-2 Ravens.

In the second, Rosemont opened strong again on a 7-0 run over the first two minutes of the quarter. During the streak Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter netted six. A basket by the Lady Defenders Torri Erdman stemmed the tide slightly more this time, as the teams traded buckets the rest of the segment with the Ravens outscoring Clarks Summit 14-10. Which saw Rosemont lead 42-12 at halftime.

The third quarter saw the most tightly contested frame of the game with neither team mounting a huge push, and after the ten minutes the Ravens had outpaced the Lady Defenders 21-19 which gave them a 63-31 edge after three.

With 5:48 left in the fourth Rosemont soared out to a 41-point lead their largest of the game at 76-35 in the midst of a 13-4 flight. Clarks Summit picked up the next six of the stanza making it 76-41. Brianna Reith and Kiley Stevens each would nail jump shots to wrap up the scoring for the contest and the season, and the Ravens departed Alumnae Hall for the final time this season with an 80-41 victory.

In a matchup that saw Coach Reber use her entire team Rosemont was led by five players in double-digits and three double-doubles. Freshman Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter finished her stellar rookie year with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Sister Leilani Naone-Carter closed the season with 15 and 12 boards. Shirle Brown registered the other double-double with 14 and pulled down 10 rebounds. Kiley Stevens scored a season-high and team-high 16.
