How It Happened

In the first quarter the visitors from North Jersey found themselves off to a great start as an unassisted goal from David Stewart 55 seconds in put the Devils up 1-0. No sooner had FDU-Florham taken the lead, a man-up marker by Pat Stewart made it 2-0 not even two minutes gone. Rosemont picked up their first home goal of the season on the first of the year by Bobby Fritz, cutting the deficit to 2-1 with 11:04 to go. John Belanger hit the net on back-to-back man-up possessions taking it to 4-1, Devils. 29 seconds later Alec Orazietti made the score 5-1 after one.

The Ravens opened up the scoring in the second as they took advantage of an early man-up, when Ben Koszelak hit the twine making it 5-2. FDU-Florham came storming right back as Orazietti and Belanger (2) found the goal three times between the two of them in a 1:23 second span to push the lead out to 8-2. Koszelak found the net again to close out the scoring for the half at 8-3 Devils.

FDU-Florham came out of the halftime break and increased their lead as Pat Stewart scored for the second time on the day to increase the lead to 9-3. The Ravens quickly put the Devils on notice that the game was not over as Tyler Ferrara, Ben Koszelak and an Anthony Bottoms hat trick put together a 5-0 Rosemont run to get to within one at 9-8. FDU-Florham would pick up the final two goals of the frame, and took an 11-8 lead to the fourth.

The final quarter saw the Devils put it out of reach, as they outscored the Ravens 6-1 in the final 15 minutes. Koszelak's fourth goal of the game would account for the only maker by Rosemont, and the Ravens left the RAC falling by a final of 17-9.

Ben Koszelak scored four goals on his six shots and picked up three ground balls.
Anthony Bottoms scored a hat trick during the 5-0 third quarter run and added an assist.
Tyler Ferrara scored once and had a pair of assists.
Bobby Fritz found the net once.
Zach Bowe went 14-21 at the faceoff X.
Cassius Christie made 13 saves in the loss.

For the Devils

John Belanger scored six goals and scooped up a team-high seven ground balls.
Alec Orazietti found the net five times on 15 shots.
David Stewart and Pat Stewart each picked up two goals and two ground balls each.
Dalton Rimmer and Mike Duesler had a single goal apiece.
Tom Tornetto made nine saves for the win.
