How It Happened

Rosemont opened the scoring only 2:19 into the contest as Brandon Krausse went to the net and put it past Wilkes keeper Carter Whittemore making it 1-0. The Colonels came right back about a minute and a half later when Matthew Bush fed Nicholas Ruggiero who fired it behind Ravens goalie Cassius Christie tying it at 1-1. With 3:45 to play in the first, Rosemont took advantage of a man-up opportunity as Zach Bowe set up Malik Slye, putting the Ravens up 2-1 after one.

In the second, Wilkes came out firing on all cylinders as they outscored Rosemont 5-1 over the 15- minute stretch. Scoring for the Colonels during the run was Matthew Bush (2), John Wink (2) and JT Weitzel. The Ravens' lone goal of the frame came at the 14:19 mark when Bobby Fritz hit the back of the net, making the score 6-3 Wilkes at half.

Coming out of the halftime break, Rosemont closed the gap to 6-4, as Bobby Fritz scored only 12 seconds into the third. Matthew Bush then put one in the cage upping the Colonels' lead to 7-4 with 13:46 to go. Then, a little over halfway into the quarter, Malik Slye and Brandon Krausse each tickled the twine in a 14-second span cutting it to 7-6. Malik Slye would bury another one with a little under five minutes to go, leveling the game at 7-7 after three.

To start the final frame, Maxwell Frazier put one beyond Whittemore making it 8-7 Ravens with 13:45 to play. Matthew Bush would tie the game at 8-8 with an unassisted maker at the 3:28 mark. Rosemont once again went in front at 9-8 on a man-up chance with Bobby Fritz hitting the net off the feed from Malik Slye. Unfortunately for the Ravens, the Colonels picked up the final two goals of the game as Jeremy Kachel and Matthew Bush on the man-up gave Wilkes the 10-9 victory.
