How It Happened

Things briefly looked good for the Ravens as they won the game's first draw control and Victoria Kasper scored on the first shot of the game, her second of the season, to grab a 1-0 lead after just 31 seconds elapsed. Unfortunately for the home side, things went completely towards the visiting Cyclones who would then go on to score seven straight goals over a period of 14:42 to grab a 7-1 lead with 10:45 left in the first. Jennifer South would score her 5th goal of the year 24 seconds later to make the score 7-2. Ali Osorio ended the first half scoring with her first goal of the year to make the score 7-3 going into the break.

Centenary scored two quick goals to start the second half to pull ahead 9-3 with 27:44 left, but the Ravens made a comeback attempt that started when Melissa Lynch scored her second of the year with 26 ½ minutes left. Brianna Costello would score 2:21 later on an assist from Cheyse Henry, and Rosemont would get to within only three goals of the Cyclones 2:17 later when Jennifer South scored her 2nd of the day on a free position shot to make the score 9-6 in favor of Centenary with 21:53 left in the game.

The teams alternated goals for much of the rest of the game, and the Ravens would be unable to again get within less than four goals against the visitors down the stretch. For Rosemont, Jennifer South scored on another free position shot to earn her 2nd hat trick in the three games the team has played this year. Other Ravens goals came from Kasper and Osorio (Lynch).
