How It Happened

Game 1:
The Rosemont softball team finally got to take the home field this afternoon as they welcomed the Marywood University Pacers to the Main Line. Unfortunately for the Ravens the visitors scored in every inning of the first game en route to a 12-1 victory.

Marywood came out swinging a hot bat as a leadoff single by Kaitlyn Epler led to eight players coming to the plate in first. With two on and one Alexa Scala hit a double to left center plating a pair to make it 2-0. Kirstie Alvarez and Lauryn Butler each picked up an RBI in the frame. After one half the Ravens were in hole 4-0.

Rosemont scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the first as Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter opened up her home softball career with a leadoff single to left. Bailey Schulte then fouled out to the catcher. Charlie Fillmore would walk, during her at bat Naone-Carter took second on a wild pitch. Starting pitcher Autumn Sharkey also drew a walk. With the bases loaded catcher Lena Buccigrossi knocked in Naone-Carter on a ground out to second base. Lora Zubrzycki walked as well. That led to Marywood making a pitching change as starter Alyssa Bavaro was replaced by Alvarez. She retired Leilani Naone-Carter of strikes to end the first at 4-1 Pacers.

That was the closest that Rosemont could get as Marywood added one in the second, two in the third, another pair in the fourth and three more in the fifth to close out game one 12-1 in five innings.

Ravens' Top Performers

Game 2:
As the rain started to fall it did not cool off the Marywood bats. As the Pacers put big distance between themselves and the Ravens once again in the first sending 12 batters to the plate scoring eight times on only two hits. Six of the eight runs were charged to Rosemont starter Charlie Fillmore.

The bottom of the opening frame saw Rosemont pick up their only run of the game. Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter led off with a triple to deep right center. Bailey
Schulte followed with a pop out to shortstop. Fillmore plated "Lohi" with a single to left. The inning ended on a double play ball hit by Autumn Sharkey ending the first 8-1 Marywood.
