How It Happened
Game 1:
The Rosemont softball team took the home field this afternoon as they welcomed the Neumann University Knights to the Main Line. Unfortunately for the Ravens, the visitors scored in every inning of the first game en route to a 13-0 victory.
Bailey Schulte,
Autumn Sharkey and
Leilani Naone-Carter accounted for all the Ravens offense, each managing a hit off of Knights pitching.
Ravens' Top Performers
For the Knights
- Jackie Schneider led the way at the plate going 3-4, picking up four RBIs, scoring twice and smacking a home run to right field.
- Jackie Selby, Jen Leinheiser and Taylor Sirolli combined for six hits, two RBIs and scored four runs.
- The group of Melissa Bond, Zina Naughton, Kara Grogan, Robyn Hayden, Sarah Murray and Julia Cox each picked up a hit, contributed five RBIs and scored four runs.
- Jen Sieminski took the win, giving up no runs on two hits, striking out ten and walking one.
- Taylor Naman went one inning of relief giving up one hit, striking out one and hitting a batter.
Game 2:
After a scoreless first inning, the Knights found the board in the second on a Katie Korte' two-run double to left center that plated Taylor Sirolli and Jackie Schneider. The third saw Neumann add on as Becky Guinto picked up an RBI on a ground out to the pitcher
Autumn Sharkey. Schneider chipped in two more on a home run to straightaway center field. The Knights wrapped things up in the fifth as Sirolli had an RBI double and Korte' sent a two-run shot over the left field wall. Rosemont would go in order in the bottom half of the frame and the game finished 8-0.
Ravens' Top Performers
- Charlie Fillmore got the lone hit of the game.
- Autumn Sharkey took the loss, going five innings and surrendering eight hits, eight runs (six earned) and striking out four.
For The Knights
- Jackie Schneider led again going 2-3, picking up two RBIs, hitting her second home run of the day, and scoring twice.
- Taylor Sirolli was 2-3 with an RBI and crossed the plate two times.
- Katie Korte' went 2-3 in her start, with three RBIs and a home run.
- Jackie Selby and Melissa Bond combined to go 2-6 with one run scored.
- In the circle, Michaela Pembleton went four innings, allowing one hit, striking out two batters and issuing one walk to earn the win.
