Kasper Hat Trick Not Enough To Get Past Griffins

How It Happened
The host Gwynedd Mercy wasted little time getting on the board this afternoon as only 3:19 into the contest they had a 2-0 lead. Rosemont cracked the scoreboard for the first time with 25:53 left in half number one as Melissa Lynch fed Ali Osorio in front of the cage who buried the ball behind the Griffins keeper cutting it to 2-1. Gwynedd Mercy came storming back as they found the net four times in a little over a three-minute span to grow the lead to 6-1. Victoria Kasper stemmed the tide for a moment picking up her sixth of the season closing it to 6-2 with 14:15 until halftime. The Griffins scored the next two opening it back up to 8-2. The Ravens would score the final three goals of the half as Kasper picked up two more to complete the hat trick and Jennifer South tickled the twine once. Rosemont headed to the halftime break down 8-5.

Unfortunately for the Ravens that was the closet they could get the rest of the was as Gwynedd Mercy scored eight straight blowing the lead out to 16-5. Rosemont got the final marker of the game at the 28:40 mark when Jennifer South converted on a Kasper feed for her 14th of the season. The final horn sounded with the host Griffins victorious 16-6.

  • Victoria Kasper led with a hat trick (on ten shots) and added an assist.
  • Jennifer South scored twice and scooped up four ground balls.
  • Ali Osorio found the net once, picked up three ground balls and won three draw controls.
  • Kiana Davis made 15 saves in the loss.

For the Griffins
  • Samantha Brown led scoring six times, added an assist, grabbed three ground balls and won five draw controls.
  • Kerri Flanagan scored a hat trick and dished out an assist.
  • Lauren Mitros, Aubrey Cook and Haley Williams combined for six goals, two assists, seven ground balls and eleven draw controls won.
  • Bria Gillard made six saves for the win.
