Aggies Pull Away From Ravens in 2nd Half

The Basics

  • Final Score: Delaware Valley 12, Rosemont 4
  • Records: Rosemont (3-6), Delaware Valley (4-3)
  • Location: Doylestown, Pa.

How It Happened

The Ravens played a tight first half against the host Delaware Valley Aggies this afternoon, but succumbed to the Aggies in the second half as DelVal defeated the Ravens by a final of 12-4.

DelVal opened up with a goal in the first 3 minutes, but the Ravens responded three minutes later when Zach Bowe took an assist from Anthony Bottoms to level the score at 1-1 with 9:14 on the clock in the first. Only 17 seconds later the Ravens would grab a 2-1 lead on an unassisted goal from Rhakeem Brunson, and the quarter would end with no further scoring.

The Aggies would re-tie the score six minutes into the second quarter, but the Ravens' Zach Bowe would take advantage of a man-up situation to re-take the lead, 3-2 with 1:43 left in the half. That proved to be the final goal of the half as the Ravens took a slight advantage into the halftime break.

Things turned sour for the Ravens in the 3rd quarter. DelVal took advantage of Rosemont turnovers and man-up opportunities to score all four goals in the quarter, which ended with the Aggies in front by a score of 6-3.

Things continued to slip away from the Ravens in the fourth, as Delaware Valley continued to light up the scoreboard, scoring the first five goals in the final quarter (nine in a row since the half) to put the game away, leading 11-3 with 7:15 left in the contest. Ben Koszelak would score the Ravens' final tally of the day with 4:20 left.
