Ravens Fall to Blazers Despite Koszelak’s Four Goals

How It Happened

In today's non-conference game, Rosemont sophomore Ben Koszelak found the net four times, but his efforts weren't enough to carry the Ravens to a win this afternoon at Hood College, as the host Blazers defeated Rosemont, 15-5. With the result the Ravens fell to 3-10 overall while the Blazers are now 8-6 for 2017.
 
The first quarter set the pace for the teams, and unfortunately the pace favored the Blazers as Hood scored all six goals in the quarter, including a goal with just seven seconds remaining on the clock in the first to claim the 6-0 lead.
 
The Ravens' Ben Koszelak took advantage of a man-up opportunity after 3 ½ minutes ran off the clock in the second quarter, but Rosemont still trailed 6-1, with plenty of time left. Hood continued to pound the Ravens on offense and put the ball in the net five more times before the half ended with the Blazers in front 11-1.
 
The second half opened up with three more goals from the Blazers, making it eight in a row by the hosts to open up a 14-1 lead with 4:41 left in the 3rd quarter. Koszelak would score his 2nd goal of the day, and the second for the Ravens to make it 14-2 to end the scoring heading into the last period.
 
The defenses took control in the final period, when only four goals were scored; three from the Ravens. Hood would score their final goal of the day with 11:33 remaining, but Anthony Bottoms answered with a score 1:12 later to make the score 15-3. Koszelak would tickle the nylon twice more; once with 8:23 left, and once with 4:47 remaining on the clock, to end the scoring on the afternoon.
