How It Happened

Game 1:
On a chilly afternoon on the Main Line the Rosemont softball team took the field for a CSAC doubleheader with the visiting Keystone College Giants.

The visitors from La Plume got off to a fast start as an infield single from Emily Long plated Kaylee Hartman to give Keystone a 1-0 lead after one. After both teams failed to score in frame number two, the Giants opened the game up in the third as five runs came across. The offense in the inning was provided by Ryleigh Fitch on a sacrifice fly, Antonette Scialpi RBI single and a two-run homer by Hunter Schantz over the wall in left.

Rosemont picked up their lone tally in the bottom of the third when Darby O'Rourke led off with a single. Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter followed with a fly out to left. Bailey Schulte advanced O'Rourke on a ground out to second. Starting pitcher Charlie Fillmore knocked her home with a base knock to center. Kaileigh Whalen ended the inning with a strike out, and after three it was 6-1 Keystone.

The Giants added one in the ensuing frame when Schantz hit a solo shot to left. Two more came across in the fifth as Kaylee Hartman scored on a Raven error and Shannon Dermont sent one into right for an RBI single. That was enough for the visitors as Rosemont went 1-2-3 in the bottom, to end the game 9-1.
