How It Happened
The visiting Knights wasted little time in getting on the board this afternoon, as Adam Fagan took a pass from Chase Fraser off the opening faceoff and put it behind the Ravens keeper to make it 1-0 eight seconds in. It took over five minutes before the next goal was scored as Fagan buried another one. With 7:11 left in first Rosemont netted their first when
Ben Koszelak got a feed from
Brandon Krausse pulling it back to 2-1. Neumann added the following two to go up 4-1, 9:22 into the frame. In the span of two-minutes three shots hit the back of the net, two from the Ravens and one by the Knights.
Bobby Fritz and Koszelak (up) scored for Rosemont, while Chris Augustine got one for Neumann. After one it was, 5-3 Knights.
Quarter number two saw Neumann run their edge to 6-3 with 10:40 left in the half. The Ravens did not go away however as
Tyler Ferrara and
Zach Bowe hit 1:15 apart cutting the deficit down to 6-5. The took advantage of a late giveaway as Alex Rucci sent a long pass to Fagan who put it away, making it 7-5 Knights at halftime.
Neumann came out of the break and opened the lead back up as two straight one from Fraser and Sergio Plesati ran the lead out to 9-5 with 9:19 to go. Koszelak stashed away two in a row cutting the edge down to 9-7 with 6:18 gone in the third. The Knights capped off the period at the 12:57 mark when Ryan Lee put one away unassisted. At the end of 45 minutes it was Neumann up 10-7.
The final stanza saw the Knights open the lead up to 11-7, as Fraser found the net again 3:23 into the fourth. The Ravens would close the gap to two as consecutive goals Ferrara and
Anthony Bottoms pulled the home side to 11-9. Fraser's fourth and fifth goals of the game made it 13-9 with 90-seconds to go. Ferrara wrapped up the scoring on the day with his third of the day with only 25-seconds to play. The final horn sounded and the Knights left the famous "gray turf" with the 13-10 win.
