ROSEMONT, Pa.-- On a night when they were trying to turn the page after two straight disappointing losses on their home floor, Rosemont's women's basketball team found the perfect solution.
Force a ton of turnovers by your opponent.
The Ravens were sound defensively, forcing 31 Immaculata turnovers on the night to cruise to an 85-65 win over the Mighty Macs on Thursday night at Alumnae Hall in a Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
The 31 turnovers forced harkened back to the early days of the season, when the Ravens forced 35 turnovers against Schuylkill on Nov. 19 and 34 turnovers against Notre Dame on Dec. 2. Rosemont was able to trap effectively and force Immaculata into some unforced errors near the midcourt line. The Ravens had 20 steals on the night - their third highest total of the regular season to this point.
Five different Rosemont players broke into double figures with
Shawn Dowd scoring 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor.Â
Leilani Naone-Carter scored 15 while
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter and
Jasmyn Parker each added 14 points in the victory. Rosemont (9-6, 3-3 CSAC) will now travel to the next two games, playing at Keystone College on Saturday afternoon before heading to Cairn on Wednesday night.
For the Mighty Macs (3-11, 2-4 CSAC), Theresa Kearney lead all scorers with 20 points on 6 of 9 shooting from the floor.
