Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Kevin Cooney

Lindsay strong in Ravens loss to Cedar Crest

Emma Lindsay had another strong day in the nets, making 12 saves on the afternoon as Rosemont's women's soccer team fell to Cedar Crest by a 1-0 score Saturday afternoon in an exciting Colonial States Athletic Conference contest at the Ravens Athletic Complex.

The freshman from Oreland, PA (Springfield-Montco High School) was able to keep the Falcons attack off balance, cutting off angles at an effective rate and making several key saves down the stretch to keep Rosemont in the game.

The lone goal of the game came in the 64th minute when Daria Warner- the leading goal scorer in the CSAC- recorded her 13th goal after getting a sharp crossing pass from Adrianne Tennis at the left post. Warner's shot caught the top of Lindsay's hand, but had just enough energy to roll into the right side of the net.

Offensively, Rosemont had some chances down the stretch, but could never find the equalizer despite solid pressure in the final few minutes of the game.

The loss snapped the Ravens three-game winning streak which allowed Rosemont to clinch a berth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs, which begin on Oct. 29. Currently, the Ravens are the sixth seed - but could move up to as high as the four seed depending on games that take place between now and the season finale next Thursday afternoon for the Senior Day game at home against Bryn Athyn- who is another team headed for the CSAC playoffs.

Rosemont will next be in action on Monday for a non-conference game at the College of Staten Island.
