ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Five Rosemont players broke into double figures on Saturday as a huge first quarter proved to be the difference in the Ravens' 75-60 win over Randolph College in the second game of the Dan Green Memorial Invitational sponsored by St. Mary's College (Md.)
Ashley Murray- fresh off a career-high 30 point, 12 rebound and three block performance in Friday night's loss to Bridgewater College- followed that up with a 13 point, 12 rebound effort despite being limited to just 20 minutes of court time due to foul trouble. Murray was the Ravens' selection for the All-Tournament team.
On Saturday, she had plenty of help.
Jayme Byers scored 13 points to tie for top honors. Byers also had 10 rebounds. Â
Shirle Brown had 11 points while Ke'Alohilani Naone-Carter and
Ayanna Thompson both added 10 points along the way. (Naone-Carter contributed nine rebounds as well while Thompson had six assists on the afternoon.)
Ten different Ravens contributed to the scoring production out of the 14 that saw time on Saturday for Rosemont (2-1), who jumped out to a 26-15 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
The Ravens are back in action on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. when they will travel to Cabrini for the first game of a women's-men's doubleheader.
