ROSEMONT, Pa- Improvement can come in giant leaps.
It can also come in small steps.
And for the Rosemont men's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon, a 10-day layoff for Spring Break didn't result in the first win of the season. But it did result in a much better effort on both ends of the field, as the Ravens fell to College of Mount St. Vincent (NY) by a 16-8 margin at the Ravens Athletic Complex.
It's the highest number of goals scored in a game for Rosemont, who fell to 0-4 on the non-conference schedule. It was also the second fewest total of goals allowed in a game this year.
More importantly, it was the overall performance that seemed to improve. The Ravens were more active getting to ground balls, able to fire more quality chances on net and cut off the middle of the field during even strength chances.
Ben Koszelak scored three more goals for Rosemont, improving his season total to nine over four games. Those nine goals have come on 12 shots on net during that timeframe.
Brandon Krauss scored two for the Ravens while
Ian Knott,
Dylan Hummel and
Nick Giangiullio added a goal each.
Thomas Hanley scored six times while Jared Mackey scored four goals for the Dolphins.
