Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse | | Kevin Cooney

Slow start proves too much for Ravens against Neumann

ASTON, Pa- The first 10 minutes of a half are often the most important.
They can determine a lot of things about the way a game will be decided. It dictates momentum and sets tone. It throws a hammer down for an opponent.
And for Rosemont, the early portions of the first half and right after halftime have seem to dictate why this season has been a struggle at times.
The Ravens allowed four goals in the first five minutes of the game, then coughed up four more in the first seven-plus minutes of the second half during Neumann's 15-6 win during a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest at the Turf Field in Aston.
Rosemont has one game left in the season- a Wednesday afternoon tilt at Gwynedd-Mercy. They have learned a lot about what is needed to move forward with a program that has a lot of youth in it. But the main thing it probably has to do is avoid the five or ten minute lapse that seems to doom them every game during this 1-13 season.
Four different Knights scored before the 12:00 mark of the first quarter. Three of them were unassisted. That's the type of things that can drive a coach wild in anger. And what may raise the blood pressure more is the fact that Rosemont actually managed to climb back into the game, trailing just 7-5 at the half. However, four quick goals in the start of the second half - including two by Knights attacker Colin Blake- put the game away.
Ben Koszelak scored three times while Brandon Krausse added two more in the loss. Dylan Hummel recorded the other goal for Rosemont.
Blake had four goals for the Knights while Eric Conlin added three on the afternoon.
