ASTON, Pa- The long and winding road is leading Rosemont's softball team home. And in their final road contest of 2018, the Ravens saw a mixed bag that has defined their season, tough stretches mixed in with some promise.
After getting blown out by Neumann in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday by a 12-0 margin, the Ravens rallied in the second contest to take a 3-0 lead early in the second game. However, the Knights would score seven combined runs in the fourth and fifth inning to post a 7-4 victory in the nightcap.
The final two doubleheaders for the Ravens (8-19, 2-16 CSAC) will take place this weekend at the Ravens Athletic Complex. Overall, Rosemont has not found a way to get the consistency that they need if they are going to content in the CSAC moving forward.
In Game 1 of the twinbill, the Ravens were held to two hits in five innings- one an infield single by Colleen Hall, the other a single by Madison Hagerty. Hall also found a way to reach base on a hit by pitch. The second game was highlighted by Kayleigh Whalen's 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs.
Still, that wasn't enough as the Knights received big offensive performances from Kierstin Fallers, who had a combined 6-of-8 with 5 RBIs in the double dip. Katie Korte went a combined 5-for-5 in the doubleheader for the Knights as well.
