LANGHORNE, PA. - There are days when the bats have come alive.
And then, there are others where they are as silent as a church mouse.
The problem for Rosemont's softball team has been that the extremes have been to the extreme- and the results have been extremely inconsistent through the early portion of the 2018 season.
The Rosemont bats were silent again on Thursday, generating only one run during a 2-1, 8-0 doubleheader loss to Cairn University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest in Langhorne, PA. 
That's four straight losses after six straight wins for the Ravens, who are now 6-7 on the season and 0-4 against the CSAC. In their seven losses this season, Rosemont has been outscored by a combined total of 88-2. The six wins have come by a combined total of 93-8.
The first game saw Rosemont take a 1-0 lead in the six on a single by Lena Buccigrossi that scored Kaileigh Whalen. However, the Highlanders would generate two runs in the six- capped off with a Katelynn Reiss sacrifice fly that brought in Haley Tinney with the game winning run.
In the nightcap, Meagan Maratita held the Ravens to one hit while the Ravens surrendered five in the bottom of the fifth to close the contest out.
Rosemont is scheduled- weather permitting- to take on Centenary in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. It would be the first home game this season at the Ravens Sports Complex for Rosemont.
