There have been nights this season where Rosemont's women's volleyball team had shown enormous promise and progress as the Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule looms up ahead.
Wednesday night was one of those nights, however, where everything seemed to go against the Ravens.
Penn State Abington came to the Main Line and played strong volleyball, taking advantage of several runs to sweep Rosemont in three sets in a non-conference game at O'Neill Gymnasium at Holy Child School. (Rosemont moved the game because of the continuing construction work taking place at Alumnae Hall.)
The Nittany Lions won by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14 to improve to 3-11. Rosemont fell to 3-6 overall.
The story of the game was the amount of errors that the Ravens committed. Rosemont had 16 reception errors and 19 attack errors on the night. By contrast, Penn State Abington had four reception errors and 13 attack errors on the night.
The Lions also connected on 16 aces on the night.
Rosemont will travel to the University of Valley Forge on Saturday for a tri-match against the Patriots and Alfred State.
