When the goals came on this rainy night, they came in a second half deluge.
Unfortunately for the Rosemont women's soccer program, it wasn't enough to satisfy their thirst for victory.
Wesley College scored four of the six goals in a wild second half, breaking open a tight game en route to a 5-2 victory over the Ravens Thursday evening in a non-conference tilt at the Ravens Athletic Complex.
The Ravens had their chances and forced a lot of action on Thursday night. They recorded 16 shots, eight on net and took a season high nine corner kicks. For portions of the second half, they looked to be the aggressors. And after
Maciana Mazzeo's penalty kick goal at the 68th minute made the score 2-1 Wolverines, it appeared that the Ravens were in a good position to make the final moments very interesting. MacKenzie Forsythe would score two minutes later however to increase the Wesley lead back to two at 3-1. Forsythe would follow at the 79th minute with her second goal to make it 4-1.
Emily Johnston would add a goal 30 seconds later to cut the margin back to 4-2, but Emily Calderelli's second goal of the night would be the capper in the 80th minute.
The loss drops Rosemont to 1-7 on the season. They will travel to Cairn on Saturday afternoon in a return to CSAC action.Â
