ROSEMONT, Pa - It was the best overall performance of the season for the Rosemont women's soccer team.
It wasn't enough, however, to earn the Ravens a victory over their neighborhood rival, as Cabrini added two goals midway through the second half to pull away and post a 3-0 win over Rosemont Saturday at the Athletic Complex.
Rosemont fell to 0-4 on the season, losing each of those contest by way of shutout. Yet, there were still some very positive signs on Saturday afternoon.
The Rosemont attack did product some strong scoring chances, with Maciana Mazzeo pushing forward with two real good scoring chances that were pushed aside at the last minute. The defense was also able to prevent a ton of scoring chances by blocking the passing ways into the box effectively.
Still, Cabrini was able to generate its offensive chances and knocked them home when they had the chance. Katelyn Gilinger scored seven minutes in off a corner kick. That would be the only scoring of the first half before two goals  in the second half from Brittany Purdy and Breanna Stockton.
The Ravens are back hom Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Brooklyn College.
