Williamsport, PA- The Rosemont Men's basketball team won their first game of the season against Penn College with a final score of 87-80.
The Ravens played great defense in the first half. They forced 14 turnovers while only committing five of their own. Rosemont's full court trap was deadly, forcing most of the turnovers. Although they dominated on defense Rosemont struggled on the offensive end in the first 20 minutes. The Ravens only shot 9% from the 3 point line and 41% in total field goals but led 38-37 at half time.
In the second half the Ravens turned their offensive struggles around in large part due to junior guard,
Marlon Sharpton. Sharpton had 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in the second half alone. He controlled the pace of the game and made some big time plays. Sharpton finished with 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Perry Belcher chipped in with 14 points and four rebounds and
Osaze Thorton finished with 13 points and four rebounds.
The Ravens will be back in action tomorrow against Lycoming College at 1 p.m.
