Rosemont, PA- The women's basketball team took on the Bloodhounds of John Jay College on Saturday afternoon and lost 84-78.
During the first quarter, the Ravens were able to get out in transition and had 7 fast break points. The Ravens led 19-13 after the first quarter. During the first half, Rosemont shot 45% from the field, but the Ravens committed 16 turnovers, while the Bloodhounds had 10 turnovers. The Ravens were the more aggressive team as the rebounded the Bloodhounds 30-18 in the first half. The Ravens trailed 42-38 going into halftime.
To start the 2
nd half, the Ravens came out with great intensity, but turnovers cost them as they had 7 turnovers in the third quarter. The Bloodhounds shot the ball well and led 67-60 heading into the 4
th quarter. It was an intense 4
th quarter, as both teams went back and forth. The Ravens trailed 77-73 with 2:37 left. John Jay College would go up 81-75, before Naone-Carter made a three to cut the deficit to three with 1:32 left. The Ravens had a few chances to score, but were unable to execute. Rosemont had 62 rebounds compared to John Jay who had 37.
Turnovers proved to be the difference in the game as the Ravens committed 29 turnovers while the Bloodhounds had 14 turnovers. The Bloodhounds had 32 points off the turnovers.
Angel Ricks had 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the team.
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter had 21 points and 14 rebounds.
