Thousand Oaks, California- The Rosemont men's basketball team traveled to California to compete in the Cal Lutheran Holiday Classic tournament and matched up against Cal Lutheran in their first game of the tournament on Saturday evening winning 73-53.
The Ravens jumped out to an early 15-5 lead and took control of the game. The Ravens played excellent defense and held Cal Lutheran to 22 points in the first half. The Ravens shot 44% from the field in the first half and made five threes. Rosemont led 35-22 at halftime.
Coming out of halftime, the Ravens increased their lead and outscored Cal Lutheran 38-31 in the second half.
Rosemont forced Cal Lutheran to commit 16 turnovers and the Ravens tallied 18 points off of those turnovers. Rosemont's superb defense forced Cal Lutheran to shoot 34% from the field for the game.
Chris Briner had a game high 19 points.
Perry Belcher had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Nick Gemmell added 10 points for the Ravens.
