BRYN ATHYN, PA. - The playoff opponent was set even if the itinerary was not heading into the regular season finale on Saturday for the Rosemont men's basketball team.
In that sense, Ravens upheld their end of the bargain on Saturday afternoon. They kept winning and building momentum heading into the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament
With
Keith Blassingale leading the way with 29 points- including his 1,000th career point- the Ravens won their six straight with an 84-69 road win at Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon in the final tune-up before the CSAC Playoffs this coming week.
The Ravens were not able to secure a home game in the semifinal contest against Wilson College. The Phoenix upended Cairn by a 89-81 margin Saturday to hold onto the second seed in the CSAC Tournament, forcing Rosemont to head to Wilson for Tuesday's semifinal game for a 7 p.m. tip-off. In the other semifinal, Cairn - the top seed- will host four-seed Centenary in Langhorne on Wednesday.Â
The two winners will play on Saturday at the home court of the highest remaining seed for a berth in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
KEY MOMENT: The first eight minutes of the game saw Rosemont continue its hot streak that has defined this six-game winning streak. It was a 19-8 run in the opening moments that helped the Ravens build a double-digit lead that the Lions were fighting uphill to overcome all afternoon. Bryn Athyn would close within four midway through the second half, but Rosemont expanded the lead back to 15 in a matter of four minutes and eventually moved to a 20 point lead late in the second half.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Blassingale's 29 points put him over the 1,000 point mark for the junior forward in his first season at Rosemont after two years at Cabrini. He now has four consecutive games with 20 or more points scored. It was the 11th time this season where Blassingale scored over 20 points. His 13 field goals on Saturday were a season high (Blassingale shot 13 for 25 from the floor.)Â
-
Jalil Myers had 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds on the afternoon. It was the ninth time this season that Myers has recorded a double-double and the 10th time that he's grabbed more than 10 rebounds. It is the 10th time in the last 11 games that Myers has scored in double figures.Â
-
Alex Epps-Ortiz had 10 points and four rebounds for the Ravens Saturday.Â
-
Perry Belcher had 11 rebounds. It is the third time in his last six games that Belcher has recorded double figures in rebounds.

UP NEXT:  The Ravens will head to Chambersburg on Tuesday for a CSAC Semifinal game against Wilson. The two teams split their matchups in the regular season: Wilson won the CSAC season opener by an 88-82 margin on Dec. 1 at home. Rosemont recorded an 81-76 win at Alumnae Hall on Feb. 2.Â
