Simply Perfect: Ravens cap off an undefeated CSAC regular season with win at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN - Sixteen and Oh So Good.

A moment that has been building for weeks finally came to being on Saturday afternoon for the Rosemont women's basketball team, who jumped out to a huge early lead and never looked back during an 82-47 win over Cedar Crest in the Colonial States Athletic Conference regular season finale in Allentown.

The Ravens improved to 22-3 overall and have now won 17 straight dating back to the Friday before the Christmas holiday. They will be the No. 1 seed in the CSAC Playoffs and host a semifinal contest at Alumnae Hall against the lowest remaining seed of Cairn (4), Centenary (5) or Wilson (6), depending on the results of Monday night's opening round contest. (Notre Dame- the three-seed- will host Wilson while Cairn and Centenary will play in Langhorne in the 4-5 game.) Keystone is the second seed in the tournament and will host the other winner from Monday's opening round.

While their NCAA fate is likely to be decided by how they do in the upcoming week- Wednesday's semifinals and Saturday's championship game, which would be at Alumnae Hall should Rosemont advance to the title game- it is worth recognizing how strong an accomplishment that the Ravens have just achieved. It is the third time in the past six years that a team has gone through the CSAC schedule undefeated. (Cabrini did it in 2018 and 2014.)

BIG NUMBERS:  Here is a brief look at how dominant Rosemont's perfect conference season and school record winning streak has been.

- The Ravens average margin of victory during the CSAC's 16 regular season wins has been 32.1 points per game.

- Rosemont's lowest margin of victory in a CSAC game was nine points in a victory over Wilson on Dec. 1.

- Every game of Rosemont's 17 game winning streak has been decided by double figures. Rosemont's closest game was a 10-point win over Hunter College on Dec. 29 at the Lycoming Tournament.

- In Rosemont's 16 league games, they held a rebounding edge of 47.4-34.3 against their opponents. They also held a 310-140 advantage in the assists category against their opposition - a 10.6 assists per game advantage as a sign of good ball movement.

GAME RECAP:

- Ashley Murray had 16 points and 15 rebounds.  It is her 13th double-double of the season.

- Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists.  It is the 15th time this season that Naone-Carter has scored in double figures.
