SCRANTON -
Emily Bingman connected for a two-run home run in Game 1, then followed up with a double in Game 2. It wasn't enough, however, to keep Rosemont from dropping a non-conference doubleheader to Marywood, 4-3 and 6-1, in a non-conference softball contest against their former Colonial States Athletic Conference rivals.
Bingman, a freshman third baseman- hit a two-run homer to break open a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth inning in Game 1 to briefly give the Ravens a 3-1 lead over the Pacers. However, Marywood would regain the lead, however, with three runs in the bottom of the sixth that was highlighted by Sarah Witte's go-ahead single to center that brought pinch-runner Sarah Sharp.
Bingman did have an extra base hit in Game 2 - one of five Rosemont hits in the nightcap that saw Marywood break the game open on a double by Kaitlyn Epler.
Rosemont will be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Brookyln College for a doubleheader that will start at 3:30.
