MLAX: Koszelak sets new goal scoring career mark as Ravens roll over Keystone

ROSEMONT - For Ben Koszelak, his Senior Day was one where he placed his stamp forever on Rosemont men's lacrosse history.

The senior attacker from Malta, NY scored eight goals on Saturday afternoon- including the one that allowed him to claim the mark for most career goals in Rosemont men's lacrosse history- as the Ravens downed Keystone College by a 23-8 margin in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest at the Ravens Athletic Complex.

Koszelak's eight goal game is the most by a Raven in a single game, breaking the mark held by Stephen Licata, who scored seven goals twice in his career (once against Immaculata in 2014, another time against Penn State-Abington in 2013.) The 10 point game is also an individual game high as well. Teammate Dylan Hummel set his own single-game record with eight assists on Saturday afternoon.

But the biggest record to fall was Koszelak breaking Licata's career goal scoring mark of 116 goals, set between 2013-16. That mark fell at the 12:16 mark of the fourth quarter when Hummel set him up in front and Koszelak bounced it home to break the mark and start a celebration among his teammates.

It was a great day for the Ravens, who honored their five seniors- Koszelak, Sal Turelli, Paul Bresil, Josh Chiapetta and Nick Giangiullio- in pre-game ceremonies. Turelli had a six point day (two goals, four assists) while Giangiullio won 32 of 33 faceoffs he took.

The Ravens (3-7, 2-0 CSAC) will return to action next Saturday afternoon when they face new CSAC member Montclair State on the road. Game time will be at 1 p.m. It is the first of back-to-back Saturday road contest in the Garden State, with a trip to Stockton on deck on April 13.
