OSCEOLA, Fla. - In the final two games of their Florida excursion, Rosemont's dropped a pair of games to New England based schools to wrap up its experience at the PFX The Spring Games.
The Ravens lost a morning contest to New England College by a 9-1 score before dropping a heartbreaking 7-6 decision to Regis College (Massachusetts).
Top honors for this day for the Ravens went to
Kaileigh Whalen, who went a combined 4-for-6 in the doubleheader. In the first game, Whalen hit a solo homer in the fourth inning to draw the Ravens back within 2-1 and produce Rosemont's lone run of the contest. She followed that up with an RBI single in the first inning against Regis that would give Rosemont an early 1-0 lead.
For the eight-game road trip, Whalen went 11-for-27 (.407) with an On Base/Slugging Percentage (OPS) of 1.023.
Taylor Carter also had two hits in both games of play on Wednesday. Carter hit .348 in her eight games played during the trip to Florida.
The Ravens are scheduled to open their home schedule on Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader against Cazenovia College at the Ravens Athletic Complex. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
