Ravens fall in rain in DH against Wilson

ROSEMONT, Pa - As a rain varied from moderate drizzle to a steady downpour on Friday afternoon, Rosemont's softball team couldn't find a way to overcome some early mistakes during a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Wilson College at the Ravens Softball Complex.

Wilson won Game 1 by a 6-5 margin in 8 innings, then took a 12-4 victory in 5 innings in the second game which was delayed by rain by 15 minutes as a steady shower moved into the Main Line area.

The Phoenix took advantage of the Universal Tiebreaker rules that are in place in extra innings of softball games. Those tiebreaker rules place a runner at second base at the beginning of the inning. Katie Roth scored Meghan Bradley on a simple groundout to second base after Bradley had been advanced over with a sacrifice by Jessica Kosheba.

Rosemont couldn't take advantage of the similar opportunity in the bottom of the eighth.

Kaileigh Whalen had three hits while Analisa Yoder had three RBIs- all coming on an RBI double in the 5th inning.

Rosemont (8-20, 1-5 CSAC) will head out on the road on Saturday when they face Clarks Summit on Saturday in a doubleheader up at the top of the Northeast Extension.
