CLARKS SUMMIT - A trip up the Northeast Extension on Saturday was just what the Rosemont softball team needed to get back on track in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoff race.
The Ravens took a much needed doubleheader sweep, squeaking out a 6-5 nine-inning win in Game 1 before rolling to a 12-1 victory in Game 2 to improve to 3-5 at the midway point of the conference season and into playoff position.
Erin Gallagher got the win in both games, throwing seven innings in Game 1 while allowing no runs and only two hits. In the nightcap, Gallagher threw all five innings allowing one run and three hits.
Offensively, Rosemont was propelled by
Analisa Yoder, who had a 4-for-4 outing in game 2 with three runs scored and two RBIs, including a triple.
Kaileigh Whalen and
Emily Bingman both had two hits in the win in Game 1, with Bingman scoring the winning run in the ninth inning on a ground out by
Colleen Hall.
Rosemont will play outside the CSAC on Tuesday when it hosts Immaculata for a doubleheader that will start at 3 p.m. before another trip up north on Thursday for a CSAC contest against Keystone College.
