MBB Loses in Double OT Against Wilson College

Box Score Rosemont, PA- The men's basketball team matched up against Wilson College in Conference play on Wednesday night and lost 90-80.
Rosemont played tenacious defense in the first half forcing Wilson to shoot just 27% from the field. Rosemont forced Wilson College to commit 10 turnovers.
The Ravens led 30-24 at halftime. Rosemont shot 48% from the field in the first half.
To start the second half, the Ravens would extend their lead to 40-27. Wilson College chipped away at the lead and tied the game at 48-48 with eight minutes left.
Rosemont would go on an 8-0 run and led 56-48 with under five minutes to play. Marlon Sharpton made two free throws to give Rosemont a 63-56 lead with 1:17 left. Wilson would make two free throws to cut the deficit to five with 0:33 left. After two turnovers by the Ravens, Wilson would make a three to tie the game at 63-63. The Ravens had two opportunities to win the game in the final few seconds, but were unable to execute. During overtime, Wilson College led 72-67, before Kahleel Henry would make a three to cut Wilsons lead to 72-70. After free throws by both teams, the Ravens had the ball with 4 seconds left, trailing 76-74. Marlon Sharpton drove to the basket and missed the layup, but Zaire Mitchell was there to lay it in at the buzzer. The game would go to double overtime.
During the second overtime, Wilson outscored Rosemont 14-4. Wilson shot 32% from the field for the game. Wilson shot 38-45 from the free throw line. Rosemont shot 23-31 from the free throw line. Chris Briner led the team with 17 points. Kahleel Henry had 16 points.
 
The men's basketball record is now 5-11 and 2-3 in Conference Play. The Ravens go on the road to face Bryn Athyn College in a Conference matchup on Saturday, January 18th at 3:00 PM.
