Rosemont, PA- The women's basketball team took on the Highlanders of Cairn University on Wednesday night in a Conference matchup and won 58-51.
Rosemont fell behind early, trailing 15-3. The Ravens struggled shooting the ball in the first quarter, shooting 2-14 from the field. Cairn led 17-7 after the first quarter.
During the second quarter, Rosemont trailed 19-11, before
Jordan Dawson scored nine straight points to give the Ravens a 20-19 lead. It was a back and forth game, including three lead changes in the second quarter. Cairn led 31-28 at halftime.
Rosemont outscored Cairn 20-11 in the third quarter. The Ravens shot 44% from the field during the third quarter. Rosemont's superb defense held Cairn to shoot 35% from the field.
The Ravens led 48-42 after the third quarter.
A basket by
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter gave Rosemont a 50-42 lead to start the fourth quarter. The Highlanders cut the lead to 54-51 with 2:53 left. Rosemont's defense forced three turnovers in the final two minutes, and
Angel Ricks scored the final four points to give Rosemont a 58-51 win.
Rosemont out rebounded Cairn 44-37 for the game.
Jordan Dawson had 17 points and 8 rebounds.
Jamira Greene had 13 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.
J'Nea Jenkins had a game high 12 rebounds.
Angel Ricks had 12 points and 7 rebounds for the Ravens.

The women's basketball record is now 6-12, and 4-7 in Conference play. The Ravens will travel to Hackettstown, New Jersey to take on Centenary University on Saturday, February 1
st at 12:00 PM.
