ROSEMONT, PA- The Rosemont Ravens Men's basketball team had a heartbreaking end to their season last night in the CSAC Semifinals against Cairn University losing 68-65. Cairn had a 4-point advantage at the half, but the Ravens stayed in the game all the way to the end. Neither team could pull away for much of the second half, handing the lead back-and-forth with Rosemont holding a two-point lead (44-42) with 12:48 to play. From that point, neither team held a lead of more than one possession for eight-straight minutes, as Cairn clung to a 59-57 lead with 4:20 left. Rosemont closed the gap to 2 points, but two Cairn free throws all but sealed the game.

Offensively, Rosemont was led by SR Marlon Sharpton who shot 53% from the field (8-15), scoring 19 points with totaling 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. SO Tyler Petroski made both of his 3-point attempts and scored a total of 10 points for the night. SR Zaire Mitchell was only able to play 22 minutes due to foul trouble, but still manager 10 points, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds.

This was a tough ending for a team who really turned their season around from an 0-5 start, to win 9 of their last 13. Thank you to all the seniors and to all the fans who showed out, not only last night but whenever they were permitted this season.
