Huge Win for Baseball over Eastern

Radnor, PA- The Rosemont Ravens baseball team won decisively against Eastern on March 11th, 23-6. The Ravens got it going early, plating 3 runs in the first inning including a homerun from FR Jamen Palladino. The team then scored one run in each of the next 3 innings, including a solo homer in the 3rd from FR Derek Shillingsford, until the 5th when they tagged on three more.

The team really exploded in the 5th inning, totaling 9 runs and putting the game out of reach. Earning 5 more in the 7th, the Ravens have a huge victory of 23-6. JR Colin McCormick and FR Brage Davis both walked 3 times. Davis and FR Shillingsford led the team in runs scored with 4 a piece. FR Samson Gerner had 4 hits including a home run to pace the Ravens. FR Shillingsford, FR Jamen Palladino each had 3, FR Dominic Younger, JR Dom Fernicola, and FR Christopher Walton had 2 hits.

JR Michael Denton got his first win of the season tallying 2.2 innings of 1 hit, no run, to go with a strikeout. FR Rob Lucas was also solid, starting the game and allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, over 2 1/3 innings. When asked about the performance of his teammates Lucas said "Our team smashed the ball today, and it made my job as the pitcher much easier". Following the game, FR Samson Gerner had this to say about the win "Rob and the pitching rotation all contributed to a great game today. They were able to go in there, control the run game very well, while the defense was able to make plays behind our pitchers. From the hitting perspective we were able to go in there, see the ball very well, move runners and bring them in. Early in the game, Jamen was able to set the tone with a 3-run shot. Whether it was Home Runs, Singles, or Sac Bunts, everyone was able to contribute from 1 through 9. Dominic Younger was able to come off the bench and do a great job while getting 2 hits as well. It was a great team effort as everyone was able to go in there and handle business".

The Ravens will be back on the field in Hackettstown NJ, against Centenary University for a double header on Friday March 18th.
