Bryn Mawr, PA| Keystone College Traveled to the Rosemont Athletic Complex to Take on the Ravens in the Second Round of the United East Skye Division Playoffs.
How it Happened:
From kickoff both defense shined through the rainy conditions, heavy rain covered the field for the first twenty minutes of play as both sides played a physical but clean game. With two early shots from the Ravens coming of the feet of
Henry Acosta and
Timothy Hall struck fire into Keystone as they drew an early Yellow Card, slowing down the jump of the Rosemont offense.Woth a shot from each side at the 15' and 16' mark Coach Loiodice decided to make the early change making a three person substitution at the 26' mark. The fresh legs of
Aidan Anderson broke through the defense off a great pass from
Timothy Hall; as the goalie closed out he flicked the ball over the goalkeeper for giving Rosemont a 1-0 lead in the 27'. The rest of the half was a defensive masterclass from the backend of
Sean Rodriguez,
Tai Torres, and Aidan Sommers, nothing past them as they kept the ball up in Rosemont attacking zone totaling four more shots in the first half.
The second half kickoff was warmer as the rain decimated from the area, both defenses fought hard at the beginning of the half. Rosemont's offense broke through first with a shot from Nicholas Lachiweic went high followed by a shot from
John Pepe that raddled the woodwork.
Ian Dolan would get in the mix firing a shot on goal that was tipped out for a save by the Keystone goalkeeper. Through 40 minutes of the second half Rosemont's defense had not allowed a single shot. Keystone realizing they were on their last breath, put together a solid offensive possession at the end of the game.
Gunner Hoffman came up with two clutch saves in the final three minutes of the match as the Ravens advance to the Skye Division Championship. The will take on #3 Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday Nov. 1st at 7pm.
