Aston, PA – The Ravens Baseball team opened the season Saturday with a 6-5 extra inning victory over PSU-Brandywine. Four Raven pitchers combined to scatter 3 earned runs over 12 innings. Sophomore
Zachary Nutley provided a solid start going 3.1 innings before turning the ball over to fellow sophomore
Brett Angelillo who surrendered just one hit in 3.2 innings on the mound.
Vinny Mattio (1-0) earned the win by pitching 4 inning of relief, giving up just one run and striking out 2. Senior captain
Michael Denton notched the save pitching a scoreless 12
th stranding the tying run at 2
nd base while striking out the final batter of the game.
The Ravens' offense was paced by leadoff hitter
Luke Franklin who went 3-6 and stole 6 bases. Third baseman
Brage Davis collected 3 RBI and first baseman
Ethan Wood was on base 5 times and scored three times.
The Ravens (1-0) take on PSU-Brandywine (0-1) for the second game of the two-game series on Sunday, February 19
th for a 12pm start again at MapleZone.
