Rosemont Baseball Gets Another Road Sweep, 5-4 & 10-3

Morristown, NJ - The Rosemont Ravens (7-5) took home two road victories by sweeping Centenary University on Saturday, March 18.  Game 1 went extra innings and saw the Ravens winning 5-4.  Starting pitcher Zachary Nutley went 5 innings before being relieved by Michael Denton who went four scoreless innings himself.  Sophomore Justin Harrison made his first appearance of the season and earned the save throwing a perfect three batter 10th inning.

The Raven's rally in the top of the 10th started with a leadoff double by short-stop Luke Franklin. Franklin's hit was followed by the winning RBI double by left-fielder Jamen Palladino.  Right fielder Julian Albanese and designated hitter Colin McCormick each had a double and scored a run in the winning effort.

The visiting Ravens took Game 2 of the day 10-3.  The Ravens offense tallied three runs in the top of the first, all with two outs.  Third baseman Brage Davis knocked in the first run with a single and he was followed by another McCormick double to score the second run.  Designated hitter David McKinney knocked in the third run of the inning with a line shot to the right side.

Rosemont extended the lead in the 4th inning, again with two outs.  Palladino was responsible for three of the six runs scored in the frame with his homerun to left field, his second of the season.  Franklin, Davis and McKinney each had two hits to lead the Ravens to the 10-3 victory.

Sophomore pitcher Brett Angelillo pitched 4 strong innings, surrendering just three runs.  Freshman Pat McCallister threw three scoreless innings in relief in his longest collegiate outing and struck out three batters in the process.

The Ravens take the field next when they play host to Gwynedd Mercy on Tuesday, March 21st at 3:30pm for its home opener at Heuser Park.
