Gwynedd Valley, PA| The Ravens Traveled to Gwynedd Mercy University to Take on the Griffins in the Home Gym to Open up the 2024-2025 Basketball Season.
How it Happened: Starting for the Ravens was #1 Zaki Gomez, #11 Denelle Holly, #24 Jared Sullivan, #30 Brian Mordi, and #33 Tyler Levins.
The Griffins would score on the opening possession but
Denelle Holly would respond with a driving layup in the paint, followed by another layup from Brain Mordi. The Ravens would have a hard time finding rebounds early in the contest, giving up multiple chances a possession. The Ravens would find themselves trailing 21-40 after a layup by
Larry Lane. A technical foul on
Denelle Holly would remove him from the contest as the Ravens entered the half trailing 50-28.
The second half the Ravens would come out of the half strong creating a run and cutting the Griffins lead to 17 after a layup from
Larry Lane with 15 minutes remaining. The Ravens would continue to battle not giving up as
Jared Sullivan would cut the lead to to 15 with a layup of his own. The Griffins would go on a run to end the game as they would defeat the Ravens 84-50.
Leading the way for the Ravens was
Brian Mordi with 13 points and 12 rebounds, followed by
Jared Sullivan with 10 points.
Bruce Black would lead the Ravens with three assists.
What's Next:
The Ravens will come back home for their next game as they will host Haverford College on 11/13 at 6pm in Alumnae Hall as the Ravens look to bounce back. Go Ravens!
