Bryn Mawr, PA| The Ravens welcomed the Tiger from Holy Family to the Grey for Rosemont Lacrosse's Home Opener.
How it Happened:
Winning the first faceoff of the game Rosemont moved into their offensive zone and went to work. Great passing set up and easy doge and score for #10
Ralph Jeudy as the Ravens took a lead to start the contest. Not long after,
Navarro Blakes took the ball unassisted making a fake and scoring increasing the Rosemont lead 2-0. Holy Family would respond with a goal of their own making the score 2-1 as
Navarro Blakes hit
Ralph Jeudy with a dime to set up another goal for the Ravens taking a 3-1 lead. Rounding out the 1st quarter, Holy Family would rattle in 3 more goals before
Navarro Blakes would tie the game back up 4-4 with another unassisted goal.Â
The second quarter the scoring stayed active as the rain held off for the players.
Nathan Howe would get the scoring started for the Ravens in the 2nd with his first college goal off of a dime of an assist from
Nathan Edwards. Through the middle of the period the defense stepped up on both sides, halting scoring in a tied game 5-5 until the 6 minute mark where Holy Family would take their second lead of the game 6-5. Going into the half
Navarro Blakes would score unassisted followed by hitting
Kody Lubischer with an assist to set up his first Collegiate goal. Holy Family would tie the game with just seconds on the clock before the half ended 7-7.
The second half, scoring for both sides were slowed down as the rain increase on the field. Ravens
Jared Sullivan would find the back of the net on a streak down the field faking the goalie to score his first collegiate goal completely unassisted brushing off defenders as he found the back of the net tying the game at 8-8. Holy Family would take a one goal lead to end the quarter 9-8.Â
The fourth quarter scoring for Rosemont was halted. Holy Family would go up 12-8 to start the quarter.
Navarro Blakes responded with a goal of his own unassisted to bring the game within three goals. The Ravens defense was able to hold Holy Family for the rest of the game, but Rosemont's offense could not find the back of the net, as the game ended 12-9.
