Bryn Mawr, PA| Cairn took the Short Drive to Rosemont to Compete in a United East Matchup in Alumnae Hall.
How it Happened:
Cairn came out of the gate hot winning the tip, scoring on the first possession and setting the pace for a fast paced game. The Ravens took a minute to adjust, finding themselves down 16-2 but rallied. Forcing a timeout from Cairn as they pulled the game back 22-16 on the back of
Mojisola Shokeye with 8 points at the end of the first quarter.Â
Through the second quarter, Rosemont would go back and forth with Cairn as neither team could seem to get a run going, Cairn would take the lead by ten then Rosemont would cut it back to six. With four minutes remaining in the second quarter, Cairn got hot as they went up on the Ravens 48-33 going into the half.
Down 15 at half,
Lakay Holloway would knock down a three out of the locker room to cut Cairn's lead to 12, but Cairn fought hard as they controlled the 3rd and 4th quater over the Ravens. Although the Ravens were able to put up the most points they have all year they fell short of the win as Cairn won with a final of 103-66.
Leading the way for the Ravens was
Lakay Holloway and
Mojisola Shokeye each with 20 followed by
Alona Stanley who had 14 on 6-8 shooting.Â
