Stratford, NJ| Rosemont Softball Traveled to Rowan to play in a Double Header versus The Prof.
How it Happened:
Game 1: Alicia Gotts started in the circle for the Ravens, as Rosemont went 1-2-3 to start the game, Rowans bats came out hot scoring five early runs in the first inning. Top 2
Analisa Yoder got on base by drawing a walk to start the inning, but again Rowans pitching held the Ravens to zero. Rowan would add on four more runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Top of the 3rd Ravens would take really good at bats working the count, but Rowan again was able hold the Ravens to zero.
Alicia Gotts would start the bottom of the 3rd before being replacing by
Cheyanne Willoughby. The Prof's would score seven more runs this inning expanding their lead to 16-0. The Ravens would get on the board as
Kendyll Strohl started off the inning with a walk followed by a fielders choice by Slyvana DiRuggieri moving Strohl to second. Then a single by
Analisa Yoder moving Kendyll over to 3rd. With runners on the corners and one out
Cheyanne Willoughby singled into left field driving in a run for the Ravens. Rowan would add one more run in the bottom of the inning to expand their lead to 17-1, as that ended game one.
Game 2: Lauren Begg started in the circle for the Ravens. Top of the 1st the Ravens started the same as they did in the first game, but
Lauren Begg's pitching followed by some help behind her held Rowan to two runs in the bottom of the 1st.
Analisa Yoder would single up the middle to start the 2nd inning, but the Ravens could not drive her home. Bottom 2nd
Lauren Begg would find herself in a small jam with the bases loaded and two outs as she managed to force a pop up holding the score at 2-0. The 3rd inning was a pitching clinic as both teams went 1-2-3 through the 3rd inning. Top of the 4th Rosemont would try some small ball as the first two batter of the inning laid down bunts in a effort to get base runners. Slynana DiRuggieri would find a gap and single on a drag bunt. As
Alicia Gotts would double into left field putting runners on second and 3rd with two outs. Rosemont would fail to drive these runs in keeping the game 2-0 going into the bottom of the 4th. Rowans bats got hot in the 4th as the tallied another six runs (five earned). As Rosemont tried to take away from their lead in the top of the 5th, they would fall to The Prof's 8-0.
What's Next:Â Rosemont will take on Keystone College, Thursday April 4th in La Plume. Games will start at 3pm.Â
