Pheonixville, PA | The Ravens Travled to Valley Forge University to take on the Patriots in The Pit.
How it Happened: Starting for the Ravens #01 Zaki Gomez, #02 Bruce Black, #04 Larry Lane, #15 Dejuan Taylor, and #30 Brian Mordi.
Zaki Gomez would get the scoring started early for the Ravens as he forced a steal on the defensive end and got to the line making both foul shots. Moving the ball around early as everyone got early opportunities to score.
Larry Lane and
Dejuan Taylor would build on the early Ravens lead. The Patriots would respond with a11-1 run to take the lead before
Brian Mordi would stop the bleeding assisted by
Brandon Moore.
Zaki Gomez would find his way to the line making three foul shots bring the Ravens within two. Valley Forge would build a small lead with two minutes left in the half before three pointers from
Brian Mordi and
Bruce Black would bring the Ravens back within one point going into the half. (35-36)
During the second half the Ravens defense held the Patriots to only thirty three points, but Rosemont's offense struggled in the middle of the quarter as Valley Forge built a small lead over the Ravens. Trailing by twelve with four minutes remaining the Ravens did not give up. An 9-0 run for the Ravens would bring them within three points with 2:30. Trailing by six points with one minute remaining the Ravens had to resort to the foul game, working in the Ravens favor as Valley Forge would miss their foul shots coming down the stretch.
Bruce Black would make a three followed by a coast to coast layup to bring the Ravens within two points with nine seconds remaining
Zaki Gomez would get the intentional foul as Valley Forge missed two foul shots.
Brian Mordi would secure the defensive board as
Chris Taylor drove to the rack and was unable to convert in the final second as the Ravens fell to the Patriots in the Pit 67-69.
Brian Mordi would lead the Ravens with 18 points and 16 rebounds.Â
