Ravens Baseball Volunteers in Yearly Challenger Day

The Rosemont College Baseball Program continued their partnership with Lower Merion Little League for an afternoon full of fun and home runs for the League's Challenger Division. The entire Ravens team, led by Coach Mike Denton, made its way to South Ardmore Park on Saturday afternoon for this great day.

"The Little League Challenger Division® was founded in 1989, and is Little League's adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges." (Little League)

The President of Lower Merion Little League, Wally Orlov, had this to say when asked about the event, "Your team was amazing and everything worked out super yesterday!"

Coach Mike Denton shared his impressions as well: "I'm thankful for our partnership with Lower Merion Little League as we continue to do events just like Challenger Day. Our team really enjoys doing these events and giving back to the community."

Jimmy Rodier, a graduate player gave his thoughts on the event, "I have done similar things to this in the past, but this was the first time I was able to do Challenger Day and it was incredible."

All of the Ravens seemed to enjoy being out there that afternoon. Freshman Raven Terrell Robinson commented: "It was really nice to see those kids smiling, having fun, and playing so well on such a special day." Carson Pence, a sophomore pitcher, added "It was a really nice activity for our team to help serve the community. We went in with a great mindset to come together as a team and make it enjoyable for the kids."

Challenger Day was the conclusion of the Ravens Fall Community Outreach Program. These events included three youth baseball clinics for the Lower Merion Little League and volunteering at the Upper Merion Fall Festival.

In other baseball related news; The Ravens also wrapped up their fall season on Saturday morning and are already looking forward to a great spring season.
