Rosemont, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Welcomed The Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland to the Hirsh Community Center for Senior Day. Rosemont Celebrated #2 Pearl Smith and #14 Jana Ehnot, Also Recognizing Seniors From Notre Dame in The Last Home Game.
The Ravens had a great celebration before the game set off, handing out flowers to the parents and seniors, along with a personalized speech as each senior took the floor. First was
Pearl Smith, a Junior from Feasterville, PA. Pearl has spent three years as the Ravens Middle Blocker. After graduation Pearl plans to use her degree to enter the field of sustainability with her long term goal to become a part of the national park service and help support the preservation of our public lands. Pearl would like to thank Coach Erin and Coach Brian for not only making this season happen but giving this team their all everyday. She would also like to thank her teammates for coming together and supporting each other through this season as well as learning and growing together. She also thanks her girlfriend Mia and her wonderful friends here today and supporting her and encouraging her to be the best version of herself out on the court. Lastly she would like to thank her mom for always supporting her athletics and inspiring her everyday.
Last but not least was
Jana Ehnot a four year Senior with the Ravens. Jana has been awarded the United East Conference Sportsmanship award for both 2023 and 2024 as well as a member of the UEC All Academic Team every year since her freshman year. Jana will continue her education as she pursues her masters degree in clinical counseling here at Rosemont next year and then pursue a PHD in Psychology. Jana would like to thank her grandma, Dolly, for always supporting her throughout her whole career. Jana would also like to thank her family for supporting her while she chased her dream of playing collegiate volleyball with a special thank you to her mother who has always seen the best in her and supported her even on days she could not be there in person. Thank you to Coach Erin and Coach Brian who have believed in her ever since they have known her and their support has pushed her to work hard each and every day. Thank you to my boyfriend, Phoenix for supporting me. Lastly, to her teammates who stepped up to make this season and specifically this day possible.
How it Happened:Â
The game did not go the Ravens way as the Gators of Notre Dame (MD) got out to a large lead.
Pearl Smith was injured during the first set and had to come off the court and did not return to play.
Lori Shorten would get the Ravens on the board with a Kill assisted by
Jana Ehnot. Rosemont would fall in the first set. In the second set, the Ravens would find some momentum, forcing rallies and giving themselves chances to score.
Mikalya Moffatt would land a Kill assisted by
Cameryn Roach but the Ravens would lose the second set 5-25 after a 8-0 by the Gators to close the set. In the third set, the Gators would get out to an early lead but
Jana Ehnot would land a solo kill to put the Ravens on the board. The Ravens would fall 0-3 to the Gators but that did not stop their spirits from being bright.
