Scranton, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Traveled to Scranton to take on The Marywood Pacers in the Insalco Arena.
Starting for the Ravens was #1 Zaki Gomez, #3 Chris Taylor, #4 Brandon Moore, #5 Robert Sukaly, and #13 Tyler Scarpulla.
How it Happened:
The Ravens offense would take a moment to find a groove, turning the ball over on their first two possessions. Scoreless through three minutes Coach McGee made a line sub to give Rosemont a new look.
Tyler Jackson would break the ice for the Ravens with a layup to cut into the Pacers lead. The offense was stagnant through the start but the Ravens defense would keep them in the game early. Trailing by ten,
Dallas Wilder would knock down a jumper, followed by
Robert Sukaly and
Zaki Gomez making layups on consecutive possessions to make it a two score game.
Brandon Moore would score four straight for the Ravens but the defense would trade baskets, allowing the Pacers to maintain the lead over the Ravens in the first half. Rosemont trailed 20-39 at the end of one.
In the second half, the Rosemont offense showed more light as
Robert Sukaly scored on the first six points of the second half for the Ravens. The defense had a hard time slowing down the Pacers as they found success from outside building their lead.
Tyler Jackson would cut to the basket for his second field goal of the game along with an and-one opportunity to cut into the Pacers lead.
Kobe Butler would also provide some good minutes for the Ravens off the bench in the second half knocking down Rosemont's first three, getting to the line, and creating a steal on the defensive end all between the 12-10 minute mark. The Ravens continued to work, cutting into the Pacers lead with tough buckets and eight minutes remaining, but the Pacers offense deemed too much for Rosemont as they would pull away late in the second half.Â
Robert Sukaly (10 points) and
Kobe Butler (8pts) would have solid second halves for Rosemont leading the offensive pressure.
What's Next:
The Ravens will be off through Thanksgiving as they deserve a break to rest and Re-coop. Rosemont will be back in action December 3rd welcoming Notre Dame of Maryland to Alumnae Hall. Tip-off will be at 6:00PM as the Ravens seek their first win.
